/ WHAT IS JUVÉDERM®?
JUVÉDERM® is manufactured by Allergan, which also offers 3 formulations: JUVÉDERM® Ultra; JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus; and JUVÉDERM® Voluma. All of these dermal fillers fall into the category of a hyaluronic acid gel injectable. Not only is hyaluronic acid made naturally in the human body, but it has also been used to treat wounds during eye surgery and has also been used to relieve joint pain. It wasn’t until 1996 when hyaluronic acid was used for the first time for facial tissue augmentation in Europe.
/ AREAS THAT CAN BE TREATED
WITH JUVÉDeRM®
Lip Augmentations
To increase the volume of your lips and to help plump naturally thin lips.
Nasolabial Folds
Also known as “Smile Lines”, the folds that start at the bottom of the nose and continue to the corners of the mouth.
Vertical Lip Lines
Many patients develop these lines due to exposure to the sun, age, and simply because it’s the area on our face that moves the most. Many smokers often develop these lines that appear just above and around the mouth.
Marionette Lines
These lines that turn downward from the mouth and go to the chin.
The “11s”
The wrinkles that appear above the nose just between the eyebrows. While most patients will achieve their desired look with a single treatment, some patients may need an additional treatment in order to get the natural look that is long lasting.
/ DECIDING WHICH JUVÉDERM® FORMULA
IS BEST FOR ME
JUVÉDERM® Ultra is used most often to treat the sensitive areas of the lips and around the mouth.
JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus has a more robust formula which work well when treating the nasolabial folds.
JUVÉDERM® Voluma will add a subtle lift and volume to your cheeks to help restore a more natural looking contour for up to 2 years.

/ THE RESTYLANE® FAMILY OF PRODUCTS AND
HOW ARE THEY DIFFERENT
The RESTYLANE® family of products is a brand of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Each is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid. Each RESTYLANE® product is designed for a specific purpose. RESTYLANE® products are approved only for patients over the age of 21.
Restylane®
is used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). RESTYLANE® is also indicated for lip augmentation.
Restylane® Silk
is the first FDA-approved product specifically designed for subtle lip augmentation and the smoothing of wrinkles around the mouth. It is composed of a gel that is smaller and smoother than other RESTYLANE® products, resulting in a softer, more precise result – ideal for restoring and enhancing the lips. Additionally, Silk is administered via ultrafine needle, which is designed for improved accuracy and precision.
RESTYLANE® Lyft
is approved by the FDA to correct volume deficit in the back of the hands, for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies, as well as the treatment of moderate to severe facial folds, such as the nasolabial folds (smile lines). Lyft is the first and only hyaluronic filler approved by the FDA to treat face and hands. Lyft contains 0.3% lidocaine, which is added to reduce the discomfort during treatment.
RESTYLANE® Refyne
integrates with your skin to help smooth out the lines that run alongside the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds and marionette lines) and the flexibility you need for natural-looking movement and expressions.
RESTYLANE® Defyne
is designed to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid to help smooth out deeper lines around your mouth (nasolabial folds and marionette lines) while letting you look more natural through a range of facial expressions.
RESTYLANE® products are approved only for patients over the age of 21.
Wrinkles are part of life and our skin changes as we age. It becomes thinner, loses fat, and no longer looks as plump and smooth as it once did. Facial aging actually begins in your 20s, when skin firmness begins to decrease as a result of both internal (genetics and natural aging) and external (sun exposure, smoking, stress, etc.) factors.
AS WE AGE:
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps provide fullness and elasticity, with the help of collagen and elastin. Hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin diminish as we age, causing skin to lose volume, while increasing the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear.

/ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RADIESSE®
HOW DOES RADIESSE® WORK?
This formula, once injected into the facial tissue will help to rebuild your body’s own collagen in order to reclaim a healthy appearance, and to offer volume in order to restore the signs of aging. The treatment can take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. Before RADIESSE® is injected, a topical or local anesthetic may be applied to raise your level of comfort. A fine needle is used to inject RADIESSE® under the skin to help stimulate the new growth of collagen. Some patients may experience slight inflammation or tenderness at the site of injection, but the discomfort is temporary and subsides within 2-4 days. Most patients can resume their normal activities immediately after the treatment has been administered.
HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
Patients can expect their results to last as long as 12 months.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS/SIDE EFFECTS?
- Inflammation
- Swelling/redness at the site of injection
- Itching
- Skin discoloration
- Mild pain
Patients that are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use RADIESSE®. It is unknown as to how this treatment will affect the infant. Let your doctor/injector know of any medications that you are on as some things like blood thinners will not allow RADIESSE® to work as it should. Please consult with a medical professional to discuss other risks and side effects.

/ WHAT IS SCULPTRA®?
SCULPTRA® contains a synthetic molecule called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), along with lidocaine (numbing) to make the injections more comfortable. An anesthetic topical gel can also be used to help numb the skin. When injected under the skin, PLLA tells your body to make more collagen in the treated areas.
/ AREAS THAT CAN BE TREATED
WITH SCULPTRA®
SCULPTRA® can be injected into:
Cheeks
Temples
Creases
Smile lines
Deep wrinkles
Folds (such as nasolabial folds)
Areas around the chin and mouth
/ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SCULPTRA®
WHAT KIND OF RESULTS WILL I SEE FROM SCULPTRA®?
SCULPTRA® can provide structure, shape, and volume to facial areas. It is formulated to be thin enough to look natural when injected, yet thick enough to provide significant improvements.
It also offers buildable results over time as your collagen production ramps up. If extensive volume restoration is desired, this can be done with a series of injection sessions. In the weeks and months after injection, new collagen will grow in the treated areas. To maintain results, all you will need are touch-ups every so often.
HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?
After your injections, collagen production will increase, giving your skin visible results with time. Some clients may not notice a dramatic change in the first few days after injection, but PLLA is well worth the wait. After 2-3 weeks, you should see a noticeable improvement.
For clients with volume loss, it can take up to 6 months for full results to be achieved. Once this occurs, results can last for up to 2 years.
HOW LONG DOES SCULPTRA® LAST?
Before your PLLA is completely gone, you can schedule touch-up injections to maintain your results. Since each person is different, our professional injectors will help you decide when to do touch-ups at the ideal time.
Because your body will produce collagen in the areas where SCULPTRA® was injected, you may need fewer injections in the future when it comes time for your touch-ups.
HOW MANY INJECTION SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
The number of sessions you will need depends on your overall treatment goals. If you want to restore volume in multiple facial areas, then multiple injection sessions will be needed. For standard treatment of wrinkles, creases, and folds, 1-2 injection sessions are usually enough.
WHAT ARE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
The most common, possible side effects with SCULPTRA® include injection site reactions, such as bruising, pain, swelling, and redness. Itching and heat sensation have also been reported. Injection site reactions tend to last 3 to 17 days, on average. Treatment, if needed for injection reactions, may include antihistamines or anti-inflammatories.
Small lumps (granulomas) under the skin, which may or may not be visible, may occur within the first 6 to 12 months after treatment. The bumps may or may not be permanent. Visible bumps may be red in the treated area. Some lumps have had to be treated with corticosteroid injections or surgery. The risk of infection and serious swelling is a possibility, as well.

/ WHAT IS BELOTERO®?
As people age, their tissues can begin to lose elasticity and shape. This can eventually make the face look unhappy or angry, betraying how good someone may feel inside. On top of the natural increase in laxity, issues like stress, chemical exposure, weight fluctuations, and genetics can compound these wrinkles.
AREAS THAT CAN BE TREATED WITH BELOTERO®
Crow’s Feet
Nasolabial Folds
Marionette Lines
“Hollow” Cheekbones
Lip Lines
